Match Reports

20th March - Whitestone Sports (A) 0 - 0 (D)

The first-half was a very evenly played game, with most of the ball play in the centre of the field. The second-half saw a few more chances on goal for both sides but neither team could open up their score sheet.

This was one of our more quiet games, with very little specific action to report on.

13th March - Nuneaton Boys Bears (H) 3 - 0 (W)

We made a poor start today. In the first half of the game we were equally matched with the Bears. We did not keep our positions and allowed the Bears to push up. Despite this, we had several shots on goal by Samuel and Joe.

In the second half we were more controlled and played the game our way. Paul and Jack in defence were as tight as ever, and the midfield worked tirelessly We made more use of the field, and quickly started the score sheet rolling with Joe. Within seconds Sam B made a long-range shot at goal making it 2-0. We continued to push forward with Sam making it 3-0 at the final whistle.

12th March - Admirals (A) 3 - 3 (D)

This was a replay from earlier on in the season.

The Warriors made a flying start with Ryan having a shot on goal within the first 30 seconds of the game. Before long Sam made the most of the keeper being off his line with a long-range shot hitting the back of the net. Followed shortly afterwards with another long-range shot by Josh making it 0-2. Five minutes before half-time a scramble in the goal mouth produced another goal by Joe. Moments before half-time the Admirals clawed one back.

The second-half produced a more scrappier game from the Warriors. Maybe this was because we were going against the wind! The Admirals capitalised on this and before long were able to make it 2-3. The Admirals managed to pull the equaliser out of the hat in the dieing seconds of the game making it 3-3 on the day.

6th March - Grove Farm (A) - P - P

This match was postponed due to the pitch being frozen.

5th March 2005 - Bedworth Eagles (A) 0 - 1 (W)

This was a re-scheduled game that was postponed earlier on in the season.

The Warriors were very quick off the mark, making full use of the field and attacking the Bedworth Eagles goal with determination. Despite good efforts though by Joe, Cameron and Samuel none were going in. However, in the last few seconds of the second half, Samuel was brought down in the box giving him a penalty. Samuel made no mistakes; the ball went whistling past the goalie to make it a goal up to the Warriors at half-time.

Bedworth Eagles were more aggressive in the second-half conceding many freekicks. They were determined to equalise by whatever means. Despite this Matty only had to make one excellent save, and Midfield still kept pushing up with several more attacks on their goal, including one good effort by Ryan. The score at final whistle was 0-1 to the Warriors, despite it being a very messy game with the Eagles constantly bringing down our boys.

The Warriors were a credit to themselves today; they played beautiful football and did not allow themselves to bring the game down to the Eagles’ level.

This match was postponed due to the pitch being water-logged.

20th February 2005 - Bulkington Sports (A) 1 - 0 (L)

Bulkington made a flying start and were quick to capitalise on a fluke goal. Unfortunately, our heads soon went down and despite the rest of the game being more evenly played we were unable to make the best of our chances to equalise. To be fair it was a cold day, Bulkington tackled hard, and our boys struggled to stay on their feet.

This game was postponed because the pitch was water-logged.

6th February - Ambleside Marlins (A) 0 - 3 (W)

Ambleside’s pitch was water-logged so the game was played at Milby today.

The Marlins started very fast, dominating the first five minutes of the game. Matty had to make some spectacular saves today that were highly commendable. Towards the end of the first half we picked our game up and Samuel was able to score his maiden goal for the team. There was a turnaround of fortunes in the second with the Warriors dominating the game. The midfield were quick to push the ball up the field and Joe was able to put away two further goals. Again, Matty had a brilliant second half, making several more superb saves.

Well done again boys you all played very well!

30th January - Ambleside Sharks (H) 1 - 0 (W)

The Sharks started the game very well having most of the play, and indeed several attacks on our goal. After the first five minutes however, we soon picked our pace up and the match was more even. We had several good attempts at goal by Sam B and Cameron. Just before half-time Cameron was brought down just outside the box and was awarded a free kick. This was by far Cameron’s best free kick and the ball thundered by the Shark’s goalie.

I n the second-half Samuel L was brought on and within a few touches of the ball he almost scored his maiden goal. Further attempts were made by Josh and Ryan but the scoreline still remained 1-0.

Well done Warriors you all worked very hard today and made some superb passes on the field.

23rd January - Admirals (A) - Postponed

The referee cancelled this game due to the dangerous condition of the pitch as it was frozen.

16th January 2005 - Haunchwood Panthers (H) 4 - 0 (W)

The Warriors got off to a good start, keeping their positions well today. It was not long before both Sam and Cameron had good shots on goal. After ten minutes Joe was brought down in the box and was awarded a penalty. Unfortunately, Cameron was not able to get the ball passed the goalkeeper. Before the half-time whistle, however, two very good goals came from Sam and Joe (both being set up well by Josh).

The second half continued the way of the first half, several shots going wide. It was not long, however, before Joe and Sam found the back of the net again.

All of the boys did extremely well today. Ryan and Paul did some excellent clearances and lay-offs to their players, and Paul even had a go in goal in the last five minutes.

Well done everyone!

9th January 2005 - Bedworth Eagles Boys (A) 0 - 0 (D)

This was very cold start to the New Year. We went out very fast in the first half having most of the play. Unfortunately, after five minutes Sam had to come off with an ankle injury. We had several attempts at goal, Joe probably having the best chance in the first half.

The second half was much tougher for the boys as it was against the wind and up hill. Still the boys battled very hard even though they were getting tired. Again, we had several more attacks at goal; the best chance again coming from Joe. Bedworth Eagles attacked more aggressively in the second half having several chances themselves. In the last five minutes Bedworth Eagles really picked up their game and we had to battle hard to keep the ball out of our goal. A 0-0 scoreline at the final whistle was probably a fair result.

19th December - St Nicolas Colts (H) 0 - 5 (L)

This was always going to be a tough game for the Warriors. It was not long before the Colts opened their score sheet. They maximised any small chances they were given, and before the end of the first half they were able to score three further goals, making it 4-0 at half-time. We tightened our game in the second-half having several attacks at their goal, being very unlucky not to score at least once. We were tighter in defence too, resulting in the Colts only being able to score one further goal.

12th December - St Nicolas Rebels (H) 0 - 0 (D)

This was never going to be an easy game, the Rebels improving their play with every game. Despite constantly attacking the Rebels goal, they defended admirably making sure we could not even see the net yet alone get a ball into the back of it.

This was not the Warriors best performance today; they were easily dragged out of position and were unable to maintain their shape.

5th December - Bedworth Eagles (H) - Postponed

This match was postponed due to illness.

28th November - Haunchwood Tigers (A) 1 -1 (D)

This was probably the most entertaining football match so far for the Warriors. We started off the strongest team moving the ball around the pitch very fast. Josh soon found the back of the net making it 1-0. Cameron hit the post and Matty had to make two excellent saves. Towards the end of the first half Ryan had a shot on goal which was hand-balled out creating a penalty which was struck strong by Cameron but unfortunately was well saved by the Haunchwood goalie.

The second half was tighter for us with plenty of end-to-end action, both teams having opportunities to score. The last two minutes of the game were probably the longest. Haunchwood attacked aggressively to have several chances for goal, Matty having to make several outstanding saves. However, in the last moments of the game, Haunchwood were awarded two free kicks just outside the goal area and created several corners. In the final seconds of the game they finally equalised.

21st November 2004 - Whitestone Sports (H) 2 - 0 (W)

The Warriors made a fast start with several opportunities to score. The midfielders played the ball around the field well making some very good breaks down the wings. Jack, Paul and Harry were strong in defence making sure that Matty had a quiet game. Early on in the first half Sam found the back of net to make it 1-0 at half-time. We were equally as strong in the second-half after making several substitutions at half-time which produced our second goal from Ryan.

The TEAM played extremely well together and out-played Whitestone on the day. Well done boys!

14th November - Nuneaton Boys Bears (A) 0 - 4 (W)

What a difference a week makes. The boys were more confident today, every boy giving 110 per cent. The first half produced many attacks on the Nuneaton Boys’ goals but none hitting their target. The second half was even better getting an early goal Joe. This was quickly followed by another goal from Sam which came from an excellent corner executed by Ryan. Two more goals followed - one by Sam and a long-range strike by Josh.

Defensively it was a quiet game for the Warriors, Matty not even touching the ball. Well done boys, keep it up.

7th November - Grove Farm Ravens (H) 0 - 2 (L)

Today was always going to be challenge, Grove Farm being one of the stronger teams in the league. The Warriors battled hard, but Grove Farm was the better team on the day. We had difficulty maintaining our shape, and we were unable to make any real attacks on their goal. Our defence worked hard, and the midfield made valiant efforts to push the ball upfield, but the Grove Farm defenders were too quick to clear the ball.

Hard luck boys!

31st October - Chetwynd Falcons (A) 2 - 3 (W)

Yet again the Warriors dominated the first five minutes of the game scoring two goals straight away (Cameron and Joe). The Warriors had further chances to score but failed to capitalise on these. Chetwynd, however, soon found their legs and by half-time they managed to equalise. Despite conceding two goals in the first half, the Warriors played better in the second half and controlled the game much more. They were rewarded halfway through the second half with an excellent goal by Josh.

An enjoyable match with even play, with end-to-end action. Well done St Nics!

24th October - Bulkington Sports (H) 3 - 1 (W)

We soon took an early lead with a goal from Ryan. The midfield players worked tirelessly using the full width of the pitch. Yet again, there was some excellent defending by Paul, Harry and Jack. Before half-time Cameron was able to score another goal with a long-range shot. In the second-half Bulkington made the most of an opportunity to claw one back, before Ryan was able to hit the back of the net again for the Warriors third goal.

17th October - Attleborough Sports (A) 0 - 0 (D)

This was the worst pitch by far that the Warriors had ever played on making it hard work and very tiring for the boys. The Warriors were very strong in the first five minutes of the game producing several shots at goal and dominating the whole play. However, Attleborough soon picked their game up, and the rest of the game was more evenly matched. Even though we had 8 shots on goal none could find the back of the net. But, again thanks to some spectacular saving from Matty and very good defending by Paul, Attleborough could not score either.

To be fair this was probably not the Warriors best game to date.

10th October - Ambleside Marlins (H) 2 - 1 (W)

Again, the Warriors were strong today having various shots on goal two of which going in by Cameron. The Marlins made several attacks in our half, one of which resulting in Matty having to make an extremely good save in the second half. We were able to hold on to our two clear goals until the last few minutes of the game when a handball in the goal area produced a penalty for Ambleside making the final score 2-1.

3rd October - Ambleside Sharks (A) 0 - 0 (D)

This result did not really reflect the boys’ efforts. The Warriors dominated the whole game with several shots on goal, but none making their mark, due to a heavily defended game played by Ambleside. Again, Matty had a quiet game with no attacks on our goal and the ball only going into our half twice.

26 September - Admirals (H) 6 - 0 (W)

Again, the Warriors did themselves proud. Not only did they score 6 goals but they also had 8 other attacks on goal. Again Matty had a quiet game in goals with only three attacks against us. Joe, Josh and Cameron worked extremely hard in midfield, and the defenders made sure that the Admirals were never going to score. Two goals a piece came from Cameron, Ryan and Harry Arnthal. All of the Warriors played extremely well, but more importantly played selflessly and always passed the ball when needed, and mastered their positions expertly. Well done!

19th September - Haunchwood Panthers (A) 0 -7 (W)

Today was a very good game: all of the Warriors were a credit to themselves. They all held their positions well and played very well as a team. Goals came from Cameron (2), Ryan (who scored a hat trick), Joe and Josh. The midfield and defenders played so well that Haunchwood did not have one shot at goal.

12th September - Bedworth Eagle Boys (H) 1 - 2 (L)

A very good opening game. All the boys played well against a strong team. Matty made some good saves, whilst Sam was strong in midfield. Bedworth were awarded a penalty which was shot wide. The game was evenly played, but unfortunately Bedworth maximised their chances to produce two goals. The Warriors battled on and were rewarded with a good goal put into the back of the net by Cameron.
